random, thoughts and reflection.

I am writing this blog from the comfort of my home in Gainesville, Florida. My band, Paint Me Irrational, had a show this evening. We had a lovely time and a very good turn out. We played three new songs, and four not so new songs. Why you do you fellow bloggers need to know this? Well i guess you don't really, but i wanted to write it anyways.

Mondays class was a frightfully good time. My group discussed the Irresistible Revolution, Intercessory Prayer and The Road. We talked about the importance of marinating our prayers rather than microwaving them. We also discussed the importance of making sure we keep apathy in check. The road led our discussion down a very different "road." This is the story of a father and son and their quest for survival.

Talking with peers about anything is a great way to dig deeper into texts. It also allows you to decipher literature through another persons eyes.

these have been my random thoughts and reflections.

  1. Hey there! I think you have interesting things to say about the work we do in class, and I think it would be great if you used that same tone and expression in your blog posts. Try writing them as if you're talking to someone, maybe talking to our small group. Also, you commute from Gainesville? Dang. :)

  2. Hmm, I love The Road. I think that it is an excellent portrayal of devotion, love, and sacrifice. I am curious as to what your groups' opinion on The Road was. I think its amazing how when we begin discussing one topic, how fast we can trail down to something completely irrelevant to what the original conversation was based on, and still be a relevant conversation.

  3. From the synopsis I got, the Road sounds like a depressing book. But I suppose all literature so far has been. With the only reason the father isn't committing suicide is because of his son. I guess that can be love. I though the book suited will for the class.

  4. Wow Gainesville uh? That must be a drive. I commute from Spring Hill which is a little north of Tampa. I have new read The Road but it sounds very interesting. I'll have to check it out. I also play in a band. I'll have to check out your stuff. What do you play in the group?
